The normal life expectancy of a bridge is ten years or longer. These restorations must be properly maintained with a commitment to daily oral hygiene practices.
The Dental Bridge is cheaper than implants, however, the cost is not the decisive factor. Ask Dr. Mora about the reconstruction of you missing teeth with fixed dental bridges, either with a conventional or implant design. Multiple factors need to be considered for a successful dental bridge:
-
The motivation and objectives of the patient.
-
The oral and general health of the patient.
-
The condition of the remaining teeth and supporting tissues, the periodontal condition, and oral hygiene maintenance.
- Analysis of the benefits, disadvantages, and long-term consequences of providing a crown or fixed prosthesis.
We will accomplish the treatment for your new bridge on two visits:
1. At your first visit: a complete clinical examination of the teeth and supporting structures is accomplished with confirming X-rays. The tooth is then prepared, an impression is made, and sent to the laboratory for construction. A temporary bridge is placed to protect the remaining natural dental structure and minimize any resulting tooth sensitivity.
2. During the second visit, the bridge is evaluated for accuracy of marginal fit, color, and occlusion. Upon satisfaction of these parameters, the bridge will be cemented in with a special bonding cement.
