WHAT IS FULL MOUTH RESTORATION?
Full Mouth Restoration Costa Rica
We offer whole mouth dental implants to restore all of the teeth in both the upper and lower jaws. Recover your bite and give yourself a beautiful smile.
‘Full mouth reconstruction’; ‘full mouth rehabilitation’; ‘full mouth restoration’, are terms often used interchangeably to describe the process of rebuilding or simultaneously restoring all of the teeth in both the upper and lower jaws.
This treatment is accomplished with a specialty team approach under the direction of the restorative dentist/Prosthodontist, Dr. Mora (performing procedures like crowns, bridges, and veneers); Periodontist Dra. Marisol Palma (specializing in the health of gums and supporting tissue); Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon Dr. Andrés Fernández (treatment of diseases, injuries, and defects in the head, neck, face, jaws and the hard and soft tissues of the mouth)
.
Complete dental ‘makeover’ will take a minimum of two weeks. If dental implants were placed a second trip will be needed.
Save from 50% to 70% of the prices charged in the United States or Canada by choosing to have Full Mouth Restoration surgery.
Dr. Mora will begin with a comprehensive clinical examination requiring records of your mouth, such as X-rays and photographs, impressions of your upper and lower teeth, models of your teeth that are made from these impressions, and a record of your bite.
Dr. Mora will also determine if he needs to first adjust the relationship of the teeth in your upper and lower jaws. He may also ask the other specialists (periodontist, orthodontist, oral surgeon) for a consultation in order to develop a treatment plan that is best and all-inclusive for you:
- Teeth: determine what restorative procedures may be needed including necessary root canal therapy.
- Periodontal (Gingival Condition): look for deep pockets (loss of attachment support), excessive or insufficient gum tissue, periodontal disease, and bone deformities, and irregularities.
- Temporomandibular joints, jaw muscles, and occlusion: No pain on opening or closing your mouth; harmony in how you chew.
- Esthetics: The color, shape, size, and proportion of your teeth, and how they appear in relation to your gums, lips, mouth, side profile and face.
The following procedures may be necessary, depending on Dr. Mora’s findings:
- Prophylactic teeth cleaning and periodontal care; Contouring of the gum tissue to create balance and harmony in your smile.
- Surgery: Extractions, bone grafts, crown lengthening; implants to replace missing teeth or support bridges.
- Tooth preparation for Crowns, Veneers.
- Provisional restorations to protect prepared teeth and evaluate occlusal factors.
- Cementation of permanent restorations.
- Adjustment period.
- Teeth missing as a result of decay or trauma.
- Jaw, muscle, and headache pain requiring adjustments to the bite (occlusion), etc.
- Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (Dysfunction of the ‘chewing’ muscles and the articulation between the upper and lower jaws)
- ‘Injured’ and fractured teeth resulting from trauma or accident.
- Teeth that have become severely worn due to long-term acid erosion (foods, beverages, acid reflux) or tooth grinding.
- Change in an acceptable relationship between the teeth in the lower and upper jaw, requiring an alteration in function.
